Treat boxes and individual treats have become so popular recently, and with Valentines just around the corner you may be wondering what gifts to make or what to include in your next batch of treat boxes. Well how about some pink fudge hearts! These pink fudge hearts would look great surrounded by your other sweet treats. They also make the perfect gift on their own, or how about adding them to your cakes as cake toppers. In this weeks video tutorial I go through the recipe, the process of how to make them and some different ways you could decorate them…

The Mould
In the tutorial I am using the heart popsicle mould by Sweetstamp. This mould has the perfect sized heart, measuring 9 x 8.5 cm. Making them the perfect size to add my vanilla fudge into. You can then add a lolly stick or pop in a wooden skewer if you want to add them into the top of your cakes.
In the tutorial I also use the vanilla SweetStamp letter set to add the ‘Love is Sweet’ message to the front.
Sweet Stamp have kindly given me a 10% off voucher code, to give to all of you, if you purchase from their website. That includes the moulds, the letter sets, and the brushes and anything else you like on their website!

Sprinkles
To finish off the fudge hearts I also used the pretty ‘Head over heels’ and ‘red choco balls’ by Happy Sprinkles. These are perfect if your making fudge for valentines day as they include pink and red hearts, metallic balls, pretty pink shimmery balls and lots of hundred and thousands.
If you want to get your hands on some Happy Sprinkles they have also kindly given me a 10% off discount code for me to share with you.

I absolutely love making fudge and this recipe really does just melt in the mouth. It is smooth and soft and incredibly yummy. If you have never made fudge before it is alot easier than you might think and you can make it in any colour you like, just switch the pink for a different colour. You just need to heat up the ingredients to a soft ball stage. Make sure you always keep the heat quite low as you don’t want to burn the sugar. Also be super careful as the mixture is extremely hot. Once its reach 113 – 115 degrees celcius, reduce the heat and leave it to cool. Then just beat the mixture until it thickens up. Once it’s left to set it is the perfect fudge consistency.
My tip would be once the fudge has reached temperature don’t be tempted to stir it as this will alter the sugar crystals in the mixture and give you a really crumbly fudge (unless that’s what you prefer).
I really hope you enjoy making the recipe, whether your making it for yourself or as a gift!

Pink Vanilla Fudge Heart Popsicles
Ingredients
- 240 g Condensed Milk
- 270 g Caster Sugar
- 90 ml Milk
- 75 g Butter
- 1/4 tsp vanilla flavouring
- Pink Food gel for colouring (optional)
- Sprinkles (optional)
Instructions
- Into a mixing bowl sift in the plain flour. Add the bicarbonate of soda, the ground cinnamon and the ground ginger and pop to one side.
- Into a saucepan add the butter, caster sugar, the brown sugar and the golden syrup and place this onto your hob until all the ingredients have melted together.
- You then want to add your melted ingredients to your dry ingredients in your mixing bowl. Using a wooden spoon or spatula mix this all together until it forms a dough. You can finish this off mixing it with your hands to make sure the ingredients are all combined.
- Take a piece of cling film / plastic wrap and push down your dough, coving it over. Place this into the fridge for 30 minutes.
- Whilst your dough is in the fridge you will need to print off and cut out your template pieces. You can find my template here.
- After 30 minutes take your dough out of the fridge. You can then dust your surface with a little flour and roll out your dough until its around 5mm in thickness. Then use a knife to cut out all of your shapes and place on a baking tray.
- Place your cut out shapes into a preheated oven set to 180 degrees Celsius for 10 minutes. You want the edges just to start changing colour.
- After 10 minutes you can take your shapes out of the oven to let them cool. I like to use my templates and carefully (they will be hot) cut around the template a second time, to cut off any areas that have spread in size. This will help your house fit together a little easier.
- You then have all the pieces for your gingerbread house. I like to use royal icing to stick my pieces together. Watch how to decorate your Gingerbread house in my tutorial above.
