Hi, I’m Lynsey, the face behind Cakes by Lynz. Now that you know my goal, let me tell you how my 20-year obsession with cake decorating brought me here.
I’m a self-taught cake decorator from the UK, and my obsession with everything CAKE began over 20 years ago. Like many of you, I started by baking for friends and family, but I quickly became hooked; experimenting with fondant and practicing different techniques, whilst reading and watching every tutorial I could find.
In August 2011 (14 years ago!), I uploaded my very first tutorial to YouTube. Today, I am incredibly proud to have turned that passion into a community of over 670,000 like minded cake decorators.
From Designer to Full-Time Creator
Before I was a full-time cake creator, I owned a wedding stationery company designing invitations for Bride and Grooms. This background in design naturally flowed into my cake work, where I spent five years professionally selling my cakes.
In 2020, I transitioned to working on Cakes by Lynz full-time. Today, I balance my life as a content creator with being a Mum to my son Hendrix. I’ve realised that being a Mum is a full-time job in itself, so I now focus the time I have on creating the best possible resources for you!
